Define Accounting Calendar

                                                          Define Accounting calendar 

1. It is the financial calendar and used to perform business transaction .it is used to specify no.of                      accounting period per a year.

2. Adjusting periods are applicable only in GL module. it is not applicable in other modules like                         Inventory, Purchasing and AP etc.

Pre-requisites:

 1. Define Period Type.

Define Period Type:  

  •  It is used to define number of periods per Year and Year type.
 Note:

       User must be assigned with Ledger (or) Inventory Role for defining period type.

Below are steps to be followed for the creation of the Period Type:

1. Enter the Oracle EBS Application URL in any browser and click on enter.

2. Oracle EBS Login page appears as below.


   We need to enter the below fields.
     
    1. Username.

    2. Password.

     Click on the Login button.

3. Home page will appear with all roles assigned to the user.
     

4.Navigation Path: Inventory (Role)---> setup---->Financials---> Accounting Calendar--->Types.

                                                                     (or)

                                   Ledger (Role)---> setup---->Financials---> Calendars---->Types

Period Types Forms will appear as below.


Period Type: Enter the Unique Name for the Accounting Period type.
   
Period per Year: Enter the number of periods per year.
           
              For Example: We could define Week period Type and Specify 52 period per year.

Year Type: Select the Year Type from the drop down to specify whether the period is part of a fiscal       or Calendar Year. Ledger Uses the year type to assign a year in the accounting period name when we     set up the calendar.   
                 
              Calendar to use the year in which an accounting period begins.

             Fiscal to use the year in which your fiscal year ends.

Description: Enter the Meaning full Description for the period type.



Define Accounting Calendar:

 Note:  
                 User must be assigned with Ledger (or) Inventory Role for defining accounting calendar.

Below are steps to be followed for the creation of the Accounting Calendar:

1. Enter the Oracle EBS Application URL in any browser and click on enter.

   We need to enter the below fields.
     
    1. Username.

    2. Password.

     Click on the Login button.

3. Home page will appear with all roles assigned to the user.
     

4.Navigation Path: Inventory (Role)---> setup---->Financials---> Accounting Calendar--->Accounting.

                                                                     (or)

                                   Ledger (Role)---> Setup-->Financials---> Calendars---->Accounting.

Accounting Calendar form will appear as below.

            


Calendar: Enter the unique name for the calendar.

Description: Enter the description for the calendar.

Security Check box: 
      1.  Enable Security check box to apply definition access set security to the Calendar definition. 
      2. Disable Security check box, if all users who have access to this calendar definition will be able to view and modify the calendar definition
                 
Period Prefix: Enter the prefix name of the period.

Period Type: Select the Period Type from the list.
      
Period Year: Enter the Year of the period.

Quarter: Enter a number to specify which Quarter of your fiscal year your accounting period is in,    and Ledger uses this number to determine how your accounting periods roll up for quarter-to-date balances.

 Number: Enter the number of the period and we need to maintain number of the accounting period Sequentially based on the period starting dates you specify in the form/To range.

 From: We will select the starting date for the specific period.

 To: We will select the end date for the specific period.

 Name: Enter the unique Name for the specific period.

 Adjusting Check Box: we will use the check box for only adjusting periods.

  

                            

    Save the Calendar Details by pressing the CTRL+S in keyboard (or) by selecting the save button.
